Melissa McDaniel

Fourth Grade

Personal Life | I have had the good fortune to be raised in five states, but I was born in Texas! I was raised in a Christian home by parents who strove to model Matthew 22:39, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” This is the same love that I try to model and instill in my classroom. Growing up, I attended both public and private Christian schools; I am a firm believer in the value of a Christian education and the power it has to help form lifelong servants of Christ.

I am married with one son and two Labrador Retrievers. I am a passionate reader, fond of cross stitch, love coffee, and enjoy travel. My family and I are longtime members of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where we currently volunteer with Youth and Family Ministry.

Education | My educational background includes a BFA from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and post-graduate certification to teach from St. Edward’s University. Early in my career, I felt a call to teach students designated “at risk.” After several years working with that specific population, I spent many years working with English Language Learners and teaching middle school for AISD. My relationship with Bannockburn Christian Academy began first as a parent and volunteer. My son has moved on to middle school, but it has been both a privilege and joy to be part of Bannockburn Christian Academy as a teacher.

A Note from Melissa | I am so excited about fourth grade and all the great things it has in store for us this year! I am looking forward to being part of the amazing transition from lower to upper elementary and providing support and guidance for each child’s growth in faith and academics.
