First Grade

Personal Life | I am a native Texan, and I love this state! I was born in Houston, Texas and lived there until I attended the University of Texas at Austin. After college, I moved back to Houston where my husband and I got married. Soon after, his job transferred us to San Antonio, Texas (which we loved!), and now we are moving back to Austin in order for him to attend graduate school. We have been on the go, but we are very excited to be back in Austin to explore and enjoy this beautiful city in a new light! During my time in college I really began walking with Jesus seriously, and it has been a wonderful journey learning to be renewed by the transforming of my mind in Christ. His deep Love and Grace is my bedrock, and I look forward to the rest of what He has in store for me. It is quite an honor to get to marvel at and enjoy all of the Good that Jesus has created, and share the Truth of Jesus with little ones. I believe there is no better framework for understanding this world we live in, and I am excited to explore that with the students at BCA!

Education | I graduated from UT Austin with a B.A. in Psychology (with a focus on Child Psych) and a Business Foundations Certificate. After school, I began teaching part-time at my childhood preschool while attending graduate school to become a Child Counselor. I quickly fell in love with teaching and realized I needed to make a career switch. After my first year at the preschool, I was given the opportunity to co-teach their 5-day Kinder-Prep class. This was a class for students who had late summer birthdays and wanted another year before entering into Kindergarten. Through this class I fell even more in love with teaching, with children, and with getting to share the Gospel in a classroom setting day in and day out! Their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth was astonishing and wonderful, and I am so excited to continue taking part in this! After my year in the Kinder-Prep class, my husband and I moved to San Antonio where I completed my student teaching in a third grade classroom, and then finished out the year substitute teaching. I learned so much from that time in SA about different schools, backgrounds, ages, and needs that each child walks in the door with. Although this is my first year teaching as a Texas Certified teacher, I am excited to put all of my education and experience into action!

A Note from Jacqueline | My name is Mrs. Lupton, and I am very excited to be teaching first grade at BCA this year! I am really looking forward to getting to know each of you and your children, and being a part of the journey into First and beyond! There is so much to explore and enjoy in this world that Jesus made for us, and I am eager to start this exploration together!
