About Us

WHO WE ARE

Welcome to Bannockburn

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20

We exist to lead people to become full devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Since 1973, Bannockburn Church has existed to share the truth of the gospel, demonstrating God’s love and communicating His written Word.  Bannockburn has 3 locations in Texas: Austin, Dripping Springs and Buda-Kyle. Hallmarks of our church include worship, prayer, discipleship, and missional service. Bannockburn remains passionate to see others grow in their relationship with Jesus, each other, and their community.

Reaching Austin & the World for Christ

This is an exciting time in the life of Bannockburn!

God is using us to reach the world for Christ, starting right here in Central Texas. We look forward to what God has in store for the future of Bannockburn, and would love to have you join us in our journey!

OUr Roots Run Deep

In 2022, our Buda-Kyle campus was launched at the EVO in Kyle, Texas.

On February 15, 2022, due to enormous growth in the area,
Dripping Springs opened our new Children’s & Student’s building.

In August of 2015, Pastor Ky Faciane was called as the lead pastor. The church has continued to see tremendous growth in ministry and community involvement!

We are looking forward to what God has in store for the future of Bannockburn, and would love to have you join us in our journey!

Pastor Abington and his better half, Doris Elaine, served the church faithfully for 30 years, until his passing in May 2003.

In April 2004, Bannockburn called its second pastor, Ryan Rush. During this time, the church expanded to a second campus in Dripping Springs.

On a Sunday evening in May of 1973, 137 individuals reacted to God’s calling. They had a mission of coming together and helping individuals in South Austin.

The congregation was led by James W. Abington. They initially met Sunday mornings at Crockett Secondary School. On Wednesday evenings, they utilized the offices at Bethany Lutheran Church.

In 1974, the congregation started meeting at the present area. Back then, Brodie Lane was just a soil street in a scantily populated zone of Austin.

The landscape of the city changed dramatically in the decades that followed.

Bannockburn Church flourished alongside the expanding South Austin communities.
